Tiling in Progress

After so much so much had happened, so much so much time wasted, so much so much changes, the tiling finally began on Monday. We met up with Steven at our house, supposedly to meet the air-con man but he forgot about our appointment .

When we reached the doorstep, it's like wow!! The flooring is almost one third completed. There are 4 people working at the same time, one lay floor tiles, one screeding the wall, one laying MBR toilet tile, the other one... I am not too sure what he is doing. Ha...

Anyway, some pictures taken in the noon with my camera phone.

At IMM

We went to IMM today. Basically, we went to see the mattresses as there are most brands under the same roof. We shortlisted one bed each in Sealy, Simmons and Serta. He like medium firm and I like it firm. However, I can accept any except plushy soft one.

Simmons and Sealy are having promotion, of which, I find Simmons sales is rather attractive for the GSS.

I have liked Simmons ever since the first time I tried in it Marina Sq. Today, I gave myself a chance to make a comparison. To my pleasure, he prefers Simmons too.

I'm glad, we have most likely settled our mind on mattress. No much of fuss. Now, we hope we could arrange delivery by 31st July to get additional $100 discount.

After that, we went around to see some furniture. A few dining tables that caught our eyes. We saw a fabricated XZQT bedframe which put us into consideration.

3D Drawings

The 3D drawings have arrived...

-Guest Room Wardrobe.
The glass panel will be gone. The whole wardrobe will be in pearl white laminate. Keeping it as simple as possible.

-Household Shelter
This red feature will be gone. It's a silly idea of mine. Thought we could have a sudden strong feature
somewhere. Didn't expect Steven will include it. Ha. Anyway, we will featured the whole wall with wallpaper.
-Kitchen
He missed out another drawing in the email again. Below is one side of the kitchen. It's like a mini island, as a work top and breakfast area.
-MBR toilet
The rustic tiles is not exactly black. I would say this 3D drawing kind of fail me as the tiles colors and effects are not true. Nope, we are not going to change the tiles though.
-Foyer
The foyer would be raw. Also, the panel of wall where the door is, all except the ceiling. I see that the door is ugly. I must try to convince Mr Bf to use just a normal glass door. Other than that, I am quite satisfied with the shoe cabinet.

-The TV Console.
It is swiveled. Nothing to wow about, it's just another console. Behind, you see the carpeted platform for game fever. We should have one drawing of it which I think he missed it out in the email.
All 2cts worth comments are welcome. Now, we are still thinking what color floor tiles to use. white, black or grey? Black is definitely nice and modern. Our concern is that our original unit is not able to receive much lighting in the day, we are afraid it will dim the flat by alot. However, as you all can see from the drawing, we try to keep our furniture and wall in white colors except for sofa.

It's 12th today.

Today, we finally sat down with Steven and went through a thorough discussion.

We have seen the more satisfying 3D drawing and made the necessary amendment. Also, we selected the laminates for the shoe cabinet, kitchen cabinet, one wardrobe and one vanity cupboard. We finalised the ceiling lightings and electrical points too. Last but not least the rooms doors. So we are left with the carpet and laminate floors.

According to Steven, the wall to make the MBR bigger and 2 panels of wall at study were hacked.

Mr bf and I am still considering over the floor tiles- now over black and grey. Yes, please bear with us. Anyway, tiling work should start next week after the Vesak Day PH. Yes!

Tomorrow, I will be looking at some wallpapers. =)

Fridge | Washer & Dryer

We are back last night.

Today, we went to LifeStorey and Molecule at Great World City. Nothing really caught our eyes.

After running some errands in town, we drove back to the east to Parkway Parade to source for refrigerator and washing machine. I was looking for stainless steel doors. Fisher and Paykel and Panasonic was my top listed. However, it seemed like both sales person in Best Denki and Harvey Norman was selling us Samsung. The sad thing is that do not have a nice one in stainless steel but only matte silver. Still, to be practical, we have shortlisted 3 Samsung refrigerators for their technology and cost efficiency.

And as for washing machine, we were recommended the Bosch washer and dryer. Haven't collected enough knowledge of washer and dryer yet. We are not so sure whether it is a good buy. $1199 for a washer seemed costly but mr bf was still thinking that it's reasonable. Well....
I think we have not seen enough.

Hacking by our ID should start next week.

Next appointment around 12th, after we come back from holiday. We should be seeing 2nd 3D drawing, planning of electrical points and tile work should also begin shortly after.

1st drawing= NG

Appointment began at 9:00pm and ended 11:00pm.

The 3D drawing did not turn out to our likings. I do not like too many lines, or groove on one feature. One color is good enough to thrill me. It is quite a distance away from what we had in our mind.

Nevertheless, hacking will start within this few days. Another 3D drawing to preview in another 10-12 days. Tiling should begin shortly after.

We sat at one kopitiam, went into tension discussions. We should get it right real soon. We must!
